Every year, the Air Force hosts a marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. I've tried to attend a race since 2008, with no luck. The organizers offer deployed locations the chance to participate in the half marathon and 10K and I figured this would be my best bet. I did not have enough time to train for the 13.1 mile half marathon, so I ran the 10K (6.2 miles). It took me just under an hour and 10 minutes. Not my best time, but then again, I am in a humid desert. I'm so glad I FINALLY got to run an Air Force race. And as of today, I've managed to complete my third ACSC class. Nine more to go.
