Look Who's 18 Months!

On Monday, Larson came home from daycare and I noticed something yellow leaking from his eye. This is a telltale sign of pinkeye. My theory was confirmed when he woke up at 10 that night screaming and his eye was glued shut. Jason had to be in at 0700 the next day to fly and I had to brief at 0730 and 0800. Luckily the daycare let Jason drop Larson off long enough for me to go in and give my briefings. I got the antibiotic drops (which he HATES) and spent the day with him since he couldn't go back to daycare until the next day. It's policy that any child with pinkeye has to be on antibiotics for 24hrs until being allowed to return. All is well now.

Okay...on to the fun stuff.

Larson turned 18 months on July 21st. Yay!

We got him a rocking horse since he loves to swing on the ottoman in his room. Here he is rocking out....

And being the little stuntman that he is...He tries this with no hands sometimes, but Mommy nixes that as soon as she sees it. My heart can't take that yet.

Ticklebug!

Airplane! No matter where you are or what's going on, if there's a plane overhead Larson will let you know.

Larson has his own hat, but it's much more fun to wear Daddy's.

Larson has been saying these words for a while:
- Mama
- Dada
- All done (he signs this, too)
- Doggie
- Where are you?
- Thank you
- Bless you
- Bubble

Here are some new words that Larson can say now:
- It's hot
- Mine (not sure who taught him that, but once I find them I'll give them a piece of my mind.)
- Water
- Nana (for Banana, not his Nana. We're still working on that.)
- Light (he loves flicking the switches)
- Shoe
- More (he signs this as well)
- Fall down
- Snowball (the name of the class pet--a little, white mouse)

Here's what he's doing:
- Climbs anything and everything (he has a really strong upper body).
- Blows on his food to cool it off (even fruit, haha!).
- Tries to put on his socks and shoes.
- Holds Sandy's leash as we take her for a walk.
- Feels the ground and says, "It's hot."
- He likes to help put things back where they belong.
- Wipes the table with a napkin to help clean it.
- Puts his paper towel in the trash when he finishes wiping his face/hands.
- Tries to fasten the buckle on his Teddy tether

And we're working on:
- Saying "please" and "thank you" (He can repeat "thank you" but doesn't say it when someone gives him something).
- Saying "good morning"
- Not pinching the dog or us
- Recognizing photos of family members
