Larson's First Three Months

Here's a play by play of Larson's first three months.

We spent 4 days recovering in the hospital. We finally came home on Sunday, January 24th. Jason's Aunt Lupe flew in to help us during the first week. Thank God for her! I hadn't planned on a c-section and I could barely walk. She was an awesome help, and Larson's first baby sitter.

Meeting the Family

Jason's mom, Elena, came to visit in early Feb and stayed for almost a week. She had a great time getting to know her first grandchild.

Next, my grandparents and twin sister came for a visit at the end of February. Auntie Nique actually took over one night so Jason and I could get some rest. I slept for a whole 4 hours straight and it felt good!

Great Granddad, Charles

Auntie Nique

Nana (Great Grandma), Delores

In March, Larson met his grandfather John.

In April, Jason's best friend Lang drove up from Houston to pay a visit.

So in his first 3 months, Larson has met most of his family.

Daycare

I also started back to work in March for a few days at a time. The hardest thing was dropping him off at the daycare center. Luckily he's on base, but it was much harder than I thought it would be.

It's like he knows he's going to daycare.

First Easter

Larson and I attended Easter service at the Base Chapel. It was a nice service and everyone there is really nice. I enjoyed it. Larson slept through most of it.

First Road Trip

In April, Jason and I decided we needed a bigger car. My tiny Integra just wasn't cutting it anymore. So we packed up his car and drove to San Antonio to pick up our Envoy. We stayed with our friends Holly, Ryan and their son Luke. The trip would normally take about 5.5 hours. It took us about 7. Larson did relatively well. Since I was sitting in the back with him it made it easier to soothe him and calm him down. He was a little cranky by the end of the day, but it wasn't so bad,

The hard part was coming back. Whew! I made sure we left right after his morning feeding. We hopped in our cars and hit the highway. The first four hours were a breeze, especially since he was asleep! Things went downhill from there. He decided he didn't like the carseat anymore and he was determined to let us know it. We had to keep stopping to calm him down if he got really fussy. At one point we were stopping once an hour. But, we made it home and let him stretch out on his bed. Mission Complete.

Later, Jason's Mom and her friend Dodie came to visit. This was Dodie's first time meeting Larson. Larson had a great time playing with them. He talked their ears off while they were here.
